Three names on the cover, two islands in the mic. With "Célibataire", unveiled in early June on his YouTube channel, Magistral releases a single under his own name, bringing together Aknose, a leading figure of the Guadeloupean scene, and N'Ken, a Martinican voice of shatta. A line-up that crosses the Dominica Channel in both directions.
Behind Magistral is Patrice Piquion, a Guadeloupean beatmaker active since 2010, whom RCI presents as the founder of the Magistral School in Les Abymes — the first training centre dedicated to music in Guadeloupe. Aknose and he know each other well: they were heard together on "Bloqué", then on "Coulie Coulie" with Kima in 2025, a track that became one of the festive moments of the year in the Antilles, all the way to Aknose's appearance on Planète Rap on Skyrock.
Facing them, N'Ken brings another story. The Martinican artist has been singing since 2012 and made her name in shatta with "Walpa 2" in 2023, with over two million streams, followed by "Ti Zozio" in 2024. In June 2025, Meryl called on her for "Shatta Confessions". Almost exactly one year later, it's a beatmaker from Pointe-à-Pitre setting the stage for "Célibataire", where her Creole meets Aknose's bouyon energy on the same riddim.
A producer at the centre, one voice from each island around him. It looks like a bridge.
